1. The congregation is encouraged to submit names of eligible men for service.
2.
The
Council would organize a pool of nominees consisting of a limited number of
eligible men. The minimum number of
nominees would be twice the number of vacancies to be filled.
3.
Nominees
would be notified by letter and asked to respond within a specified period of
time if there was a valid reason why the call from the Lord could not be
considered. No response within the
specified period would indicate consent.
4.
Names
of consenting nominees would be presented to the
congregation for confirmation two Sundays prior to election.
5. Prayer
for selecting nominee would be offered one-week prior to vote.
1.
Members
of the congregation would be asked to vote yes for every
nominee they felt was
qualifies to serve. Each nominee that
received
a simple majority (50% +1)
of yes votes would be included in the lot.
Those receiving less than a
simple majority would be omitted from
the lot without the knowledge of the
congregation. After a prayer for
guidance’s, voting would take place Sunday morning after the service.
2.
All
Elders would count votes and give their totals to the President and Clerk. President and Clerk would check to see if
each nominee received a simple majority. Congregation could have coffee. Then come back in the sanctuary.
3.
Prayer
would proceed and a plea for guidance from the Holy Spirit to
determine the will of God.
4.
The
retiring Officers Bearers would draw from the remaining pool. To select their replacement.
10. Conclude
with a prayer thanking God for his guidance’s and close
with
the Doxology.
