Education Committee Meeting Minutes Sunday, April 13, 08 5:00 P.M.
Present: Marlo Covey, Dave Pluim, Mindy Baccam, Dar Fenchel, Jan Bakker,
Bev Altena, Nancy Driesen
Discussed last years appreciation ice cream & bar social for teachers & families, but ended up with enough to feed whole church.
Discussed new curriculum for 7th & 8th Is there enough memorization? Had various discussions of what people want for materials. Bev will check with other churches what theyre using.
Each committee member was asked to take a few teachers names and ask how their year was and if they liked the materials.
Agreed to do ice cream and bars for appreciation Sunday, April 27
Discussed catechism on Sundays for senior high.
Recognition of seniors in church service.
Made aware that the 6th grade class was frustrating to teach. Maybe put a council member in charge of class.
